Grain Of Wheat Miniature Light Bulb Lamps Wire Leads 3V Or 6 Volt

This is one item of new wire-ended bulb available in 3V and 6V versions and packs of 1, 5, or 10 bulbs. The operational current is 65mA in both cases. The glass envelope diameter is approximately 3 x 7mm and the wire leads are 110mm. There are a few applications where you might prefer these to using LEDs such as:

* In modelmaking where the traditional colour of a tungsten filament lamp is desired, rather than the bluish light obtained from white LEDs. This is especially pronounced when running at less than full power. These bulbs also provide illumination all round which is difficult to obtain with a single LED, due their natural one-sided nature and lens focussed packaging.

* In low voltage A.C. applications where LEDs would flicker and suffer excess reverse voltage. Maybe this would be useful in model railways.

* Replacement bulb for scale illumination in old tuners, oscilloscopes, and radios etc

* Replacement bulb for indicators in vintage equipment e.g. the stereo pilot indicator in old tuners where the slower turn-on and turn-off of a filament bulb rather than the instantaneous behaviour of an LED is desired.
