Flashing Pre-Wired LED 3mm 12V Volt Clear High Brightness

This is a pack of 1, 5, or 10 items of 3mm diameter flashing LED with 20cm wire leads with a resistor for 12 Volt operation fitted into the leads. Nominal current at 12V is 20mA when lit, and this averages out at 10mA due to the 50:50 flashing duty cycle. The lit pictures are taken using a 12V battery pack comprising eight AA cells. One LED will run for about 260 hours on Duracell or similar good quality AA alkaline cells. Ten LEDs will run for more than forty hours on such a battery pack. The flashing rate is between once and twice per second. When used in a group the flashing is not synchronized.

Operation down at 6V is still possible on all colors with reduced brightness and approximately 50% current consumption.

The yellow color is not quite as bright as the others due to a peculiarity of the physics involved in the silicon LED process.

The batteries and pack shown for demonstration purposes in the video are not included.

If using a power supply it needs to be a regulated type. Nominally 12V train set transformers and old battery chargers providing rectified A.C. at a peak voltage higher than 12V will kill the LEDs.

The available colours are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and white.
