Stereo Balance Blend Track Center Detent Control Potentiometer MN BAL

This is one item of new, dual gang, 16mm body carbon track potentiometer in various resistance values.

These are new items and come with a nut and a washer for mounting on a front panel. The mounting hole required is 7mm diameter. The total shaft length is 17mm, where the turning part is 11mm and the threaded part is 6mm. The "MN" prefix before the track resistance value denotes a special track type intended for stereo balance controls. The max power rating is 0.1W. The manufacturer is Alpha Taiwan. The splined shaft is the standard 6mm diameter T18 type.

The tracks on these are part metallized and part log track carbon. A connection diagram is shown in one of the pictures. The front wafer (nearest to the shaft) is zero Ohm on the clockwise end of the track. The rear wafer is zero Ohm on the anti-clockwise end of the track. On the resistive parts of the track, there is more resistance change at the extremes of the travel so they are approximately log and are intended for audio balance control use. On the resistive parts of the tracks, the half resistance point is reached at about 60 degrees rotation from either end, or 90 degrees from the centre detent point. The total rotation angle is 300 degrees.
