Potentiometer D Shaft Flat Points to Wiper Flatted 6mm Conductive Plastic A Track BDWF
In this unusual variety of a single item of D-shaft pot, the flat on the shaft points towards the wiper, so it points towards the left hand pin when the pot shaft is rotated fully anticlockwise. This is relevant if you are using knobs with a pointer mark that happen to be of this less usual kind. Mixing desk and equipment manufacturers love to use awkward pots to stop you replacing them. The more conventional types are available on another listing in the shop.
This is one item of new, single gang, conductive plastic track potentiometer which has a standard metric 6mm D-shaped flatted shaft manufactured by Bourns/TT. The turning shaft length is 12mm and the threaded section of the pot is 6mm. A nut and a washer are included for mounting on a front panel. The mounting hole required is 7mm diameter. The connection pins will allow either PCB mounting or soldered wire connections.
The "A" prefix before the track resistance value denotes an audio track taper often used in sound level volume controls. The max power rating is 0.1W. The track tolerance is +/-20%. The tracks are nice low noise conductive plastic types.
The pin spacing is 5mm
The shaft diameter is the standard 6mm metric size
The width across the flat is a little over 5mm, standard size.
The 'diameter' across the curve to the flat is 4.5mm.
The flat points upwards away from the centre pin when the pot is at the mid-point.
The rotation angle is 300 degrees.
If you have a pot with a track label of A103, this is a A10K where 3 is the number of zeros after 10 in Ohms. A 502 would be 5K, a 472 would be 4K7 etc. Sometimes pots may also be labelled with the A as a suffix i.e. 50KA.
