Potentiometer 16mm Flatted 6mm D Shaft Conductive Plastic Track Pot Bourns B BD

This is one item of new, single gang, linear track potentiometer which has a standard 6.0mm metric D-shaped flatted shaft manufactured by Bourns. The turning shaft length is 14mm and the threaded section of the shaft is 6mm. A nut and a washer are included for mounting on a front panel. The mounting hole required is 7mm diameter.

The connection pins will allow either PCB mounting or soldered wire connections. The "B" prefix before the track resistance value denotes the linear track taper. The max power rating is 0.2W. The track tolerance is +/-20%. The tracks are nice low noise conductive plastic types.

Different quantity pack sizes are available.

You can use these pots in various audio projects. I would have used them in my HC logic based mighty Hammond organ emulator if I'd had them available at the time:

The pin spacing is 5mm
The shaft diameter is the standard 6.0mm metric size
The width across the flat is a little over 5mm, standard size.
The 'diameter' across the curve to the flat is 4.5mm.
The flat points downwards towards the centre pin when the pot is at the mid-point.
The rotation angle is 300 degrees.

If you have a pot with a track label of B503, this is a linear 50K where 3 is the number of zeros after 50 in Ohms. A 502 would be 5K, a 472 would be 4K7 etc. Sometimes pots may also be labelled with the B as a suffix i.e. 50KB.
