Track Resistance

This is one item of 16mm body, logarithmic carbon track potentiometer made by Alpha Taiwan.

They have solder lug connections. There are various track values available on the different variations. The total shaft length is 15mm, of which the threaded part is 6mm long and the circular turning part is 9mm long and 6.35mm one quarter inch diameter. The mounting hole required is 7mm diameter. The nut and washer are provided.

The "A" prefix before the track resistance value denotes a log audio track taper intended for sound level volume controls. The max power rating is 0.1W. If you have a pot with a track label of A253, this is an A25K where 3 is the number of zeros after the 25 in Ohms. A 252 would be 2.5K, a 472 would be 4.7K etc. Sometimes pots may also be labelled with the A as a suffix i.e. 25KA.
