Dual Centre Click Potentiometer Stereo Detent Logarithmic Splined Shaft A DD
This is one item of dual gang, log track, carbon track potentiometer which has a gentle mechanical click when in the centre position. Typically this is used where positioning in the centre position has some importance, like the centre position in left-right balance pan controls or the 0dB point in frequency equalizers.
These are new items and come with a nut and a washer for mounting on a front panel. The splined shaft is 6mm diameter. The mounting hole required is 7mm diameter. The connection pins will allow either PCB mounting or soldered wire connections. The "A" prefix before the track resistance value denotes an audio logarithmic track taper. The max power rating is 0.1W per section.
The threaded part of the shaft is 6mm long on all types. Somewhat annoyingly, the turning part of the shaft varies between track values:
50K : 13mm
500K : 10mm
The pins are 5mm apart left to right and also 5mm front back between each section.
If you have a pot with a track label of A503, this is a A50K where 3 is the number of zeros after 50 in Ohms. A 502 would be 5K, a 472 would be 4K7 etc. Sometimes pots may also be labelled with the A as a suffix i.e. 50KA.
