This is one item of 50uA full scale deflection microammeter with a scale that reads 0 to 6kV. It was made by Sangamo West. This would normally be part of equipment where a suitable series resistor was used to take off a tap from a lower voltage part of an E.H.T. generating system, i.e. you will Not be able to read 6kV supplies with any 10 Watt 10 MegOhm series resistor, which would be a non-existant part. The needle zeroes correctly and I have tested it for accurate reading at 50uA. The coil resistance is shown as 934 Ohms. There is a chip on the side of the fascia.
As seen in the video, you could use a 9V battery and normal skin resistance to move the needle, and it will certainly read the current generated by potato batteries, very small solar cells, photodiodes and phototransistors etc.
