Pack Quantity

This is one item of new plastic battery holder for four D cells. The higher pack quantity options are cheaper per item.

It comes with a good quality PP3 style clip-on connector with 15cm flying leads. Maximum current draw is 0.5 Amp. Avoid shorting the leads or clip terminals together when the batteries are installed. Care should be exercised in this respect if using rechargeable nickel batteries. The batteries are not included.

A high brightness 5mm white LED with a suitable resistor to take 20mA at 6 Volts will last for up to forty days of continuous use on four good quality alkaline D cells, and you can find such a pre-wired LED on another listing in my Etsy shop. Similarly, a 12V flashing one will work from 6 Volts at a decent reduced brightness for about six months.
