This is one item of genuine (see below for tests) Eleflow manufactured 2SC2078 RF output stage transistor intended for 27MHz 12V applications, such as CB radio output stages. This is specifically used on the UK 27/81 FM Colt 295 and Commtron Chassis and many more. I've never tried it in a Fidelity 2000 chassis but I'm informed that it's commonly used to substitute for the various devices found in that set and the many others based on it. I've listed those substitutes below, and you can see the list in one schematic snippet picture, and the Colt 295 / Commtron use of the 2SC2078 in another.
Using just "C2078" on the device package is a common shortcut for the Japanese style 2SC2078 number.

Maximum collector dissipation is 10W.
Simple Performance Tests:
I found that there were many fakes of these around before finding the good ones from Eleflow. I've tested these in a "DNF / RCH" M40 UK FM CB and they perform exactly like the original. In this particular set, when you peak up the input tune and output match coils in the final output stage, you actually see more than 4 Watts with the original transistor or with this good replacement device, and a mere 2W (if anything) with a typical fake device.
