You may have an old lab instrument which needs one of these. It is accurately described as a line socket though you might think of it as being more of a plug. The rating is 250V a.c. 3A. The diameter of the mating pins is 2mm. The diameter of the circular mating part is 14mm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese may fit some old lab equipment mains inlets, but they are too small for classic guitar amps and the old style of Quad ESL57 speakers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVery rarely I might find an occasional used bakelite item of the bigger version of this with either the round polarising notch or the raised rectangular tang in good condition, in plug or socket format.
